We first met Heinz Hättig in March 1983, on our first trip to Oberkirch. Renate Kascha, an English teacher at the school in Oberkirch, introduced us to him, and he wrote an article about our visit in the Acher-Rench Zeitung. For about a year, Herr Hättig sent me a copy of the newspaper, every few weeks or so. We met him and Frau Kascha again on our second visit in 1997; and Herr Hättig, again on our third trip in 2001.  The articles that he wrote about us in the newspaper helped me in the long quest to find my German Boschert relatives, descendants of my great grandfather Boschert's brother.
